Ahh 2020 is here and award season is back! The first major award show to kick off this season is the 77th Golden Globes! With a red carpet filled with all your favourite stars, here's my opinion on what everyone was wearing!
The Standouts
Scarlet Johansson
Scar Jo looked absolutely breathtaking in this red Vera Wang - from the jewelry to the makeup, her look was stunning.
Renée Zellweger
The Best Actress in a Drama winner looked nothing short of spectacular in this baby blue Armani - not a single piece of jewelry was even needed for this look, it was absolutely perfect.
Zoey Deutch
Zoey Deutch looked beautiful in this yellow Fendi number - from the jewels to the hair, 10/10
The Good Looks
Saoirse Ronan in Celine
Joey King in Iris Van Herpen
Charlize Theron in Dior
Rooney Mara in Givenchy
The Not-So-Greats
Sofia Vergara delivers another underwhelming look with the same hairstyle and silhouette as always - Imagine the potential if she would just shake it up a little!!
Rachel Brosnahan is always someone I look forward to seeing on the carpet but unfortunately this look did nothing for me.
Jennifer Aniston has disappointed once again in ANOTHER black gown with her hair styled the same as always - This look could've really shone had she pulled her hair back but I would've loved to see her in anything else.
There was a time where Margot Robbie's red carpet looks used to WOW me completely, unfortunately this look fell short. She looks stunning as always but nothing about this look is memorable.
I'll just flat out say I hate this. You're better than this, Dakota!!
The Controversials
Gwyneth Paltrow
Gwenyth Paltrow's sheer Fendi number caused a lot of raised eyebrows but I for one, loved it! Had I wished it wasn't entirely transparent from behind? Yes. But in a sea of safe gowns, it was one of my favourite looks of the night!
Jennifer Lopez
JLO garnered quite the amount of mixed reviews in this Christmas-bow looking Valentino number, but I can agree this definitely wasn't her best look. As a strong contender on red carpets, this dress, paired with the accessories and hairstyle, put her at the bottom this year.
Kerry Washington
Also sitting on a lot of controversy, Kerry Washington's look was kind of intriguing to me. I appreciated the mixture in textures from the skirt to the jacket, and I thought the sequin harness topped it off! Had the jacket been a little less exposing, all the votes would've been good. That's all! See you at the Critics Choice!
